Peter Fraser Brillant in WA Country Builders Magic

Perth’s Peter Fraser in a Ford, produced four brilliant drives at Geraldton Speedway in the 10th annual running of the WA Country Builders Mid West Modified Magic. The most important of these races was the twenty lap Final, where Fraser started on pole.
He earned the right to pole position having won two of the three heats and then captured the Atom Supply/Geraldton Industrial Supplies Top Six Shoot Out, defeating Jason Pearce for the right to start out of pole position for the final.
While only a small field of eight made the journey to Geraldton, the racing was of the highest quality on the tight 360 metre track.
The first twelve laps of the Feature were incredibly hectic with Fraser defending a small lead from Jason Pearce, Mick Johnson and Shane Brittain. The yellows flew on lap twelve for some debris on the track, which set the scene as everyone bunched up for the remaining eight laps.
Brittain was well and truly in the mix now and the former Geraldton driver, who has previously won three “Magics” was up to second and giving Fraser a real challenge. With smoke starting to pour from the #88 Holden Brittain passed Fraser for the lead.
Shortly after with visibility for those around Brittain a real problem, he was shown the black flag. The race continued and with two laps to run Fraser repassed Brittain. The smoke was a major issue as the cars headed to the checkered flag. Fraser was first across the line, then Brittain, Johnson and Pearce with a gap back to Rob Fraser and Neville Mansted.
The next round of the GWN7 Metabo WA Modified Sedan Series will be at the Perth Motorplex on December 10th with the running of the Metabo Sedan Muster.
