Heat one started third along side ball with bogart fraser and , johnson. Calon got the jump but magage to sneak through early .On Johnson tail and Fraser Driving a great race but made one misstake letting Johnson through. Red falcon couldn't find a gape past Fraser and finished third.
Heat two was going to be hard starting sixth behind purser and ...with the track good down low we had to get a clean start and finish. Tucked In Behind purser and followed the monaro for all the race and finished six.
After a non-existent 2010/2011 season and an off season of watching reruns of Daddy winning the State Title in the 'taxi' and Heat 4 at Broome, it was finally time to head to Atwell Park for the opening round of the GWN7 Metabo Modified Sedans series. We arrived after the parade when hot laps were in full swing. It was good to see the VE Commodore finally complete more than one lap and actually look like it should be out on the racetrack.
The Team at East 2 West Racing won the annual Shinju Matsuri meeting for the 4th consecutive time last weekend, held over 2 nights with 4 qualifying heats and a final, We went through un defeted in the heats and feature with a small field of 6 cars, which included Ray Clifton, Tom Oliver and Jeff Steele from Broome and Adam Hardy in the Ex Clifton BA from Derby and Danny Eginham from Karratha.
This is also the 4th feature race the crew has contested and won since Collie last year.
With not long to go now before the start of the season, still alot of work to do on the VE. Slotted the SIDI in the other week, sounds good but probably more like a rice burner than a V6. Work commitments have brung the car prep to a standstill at the moment but hopefully will get back in the shed in the next couple of weeks. Unlikely to make the first round in Albany so will aim for the second round start. Will be great to see the new Pearce car on track, no doubt will be quick from the outset and definitely one to watch.
Started the new car, in fact I have made progress with 2 new cars a vy and vs, roll cages to be ordered next week. Had too much stuff not 2 put a vy together but the vs is going to be weapon of choice. Old modified is being change to production to have bit of fun, and will be easier to sale. The old car done too much racing to be at the pointy end of the modifieds now. Going to miss this season but hope to restart at start of following season.
With only 7 weeks away to moora JP Motorsports New car is almost ready, Its taken nearly two years to build and Jason cant wait to behind the #22 EL Falcon MKII. The New car built by John Pearce has been very innovative with the design and should be on the place from the start, John and Jason decide to stick with the older EL because there was alot of gains to be made.
Well, it's been a busy off season so far here at Kye Blight Racing. We have our engine away getting a much needed freshen up and the car is stripped and a few new ideas still need to be installed before we get the car ready for its new paint scheme.
We are all very excited about the first round in Albany on November 5 and hopefully we can get some testing done before then. Having a season of experience under our belts, the car has had some changes done in which we hope will improve it so hopefully, the 2011/2012 season will be a big one.
